Walk Now for Autism Speaks - Los Angeles was held on Saturday, April 23 at the Rose Bowl. We had several kids in attendance and I have been busy searching the internet for images. We have found several that were linked on the Autism Speaks - LA Facebook page and those images have now been added to the gallery. There are many petitions out and about right now to save AMC & OLTL, and to get them to other networks. As you can see, we've done a little resizing for right now, as our good friend Sara at The Pine Valley Exposer has been actively running a Keep AMC petition and in order to show our support, have added a widget to direct everyone to the petition.

Unfortunately as much as we want to add every single petition on the sidebar as a widget, as we want to see both of our soaps saved....our good friends at the petition site...well...their coding only lets one show at a time for some strange reason. Honestly...we have been avoiding making this post all day. We've been crying, been in shock, and been unable to stomach the events that have unfolded today. As many of you know by now...both All My Children and One Life to Live have been canceled. Despite the viewer outcry to ABC to please keep our beloved shows, they have decided to replace AMC with "The Chew" in September, and OLTL with "The Revolution" in January. No final airdates have been given yet. We are honestly at a loss for words on how to write an update that hurts so much to even think about. Two shows that have brought so many stories into our homes, brought us favorite actors, favorite couples and most importantly so many wonderful memories.

Maybe the words lay best within the words of the actors. Some of the cast of AMC and OLTL along with many actors within daytime past and present have been on twitter and Facebook today, making statements, and it is their words we would like to share with you:

Jordi Vilasuso (Griffin, AMC)- 6 more months of really good show! This has been the best group of people that I've ever worked with. I am blessed to have been part of AMC!

Eden Riegel (ex-Bianca, AMC) - Saddened and shocked by the news of #AMC's cancellation. It's the end of an era. I love you, AMC.

Stephanie Gatschet (Madison, AMC) - It's a sad day in Pine Valley. We're all still trying to absorb the news... Thank you all for your support! #AMC has the best fans ever. xo

Gina Tognoni (Kelly, OLTL) - terribly super sad day. I am grateful for the opportunity One life had given me over the years it is a piece of my heart- love you gt

Nathan Fillion (ex-Joey, OLTL) - A moment of silence for a disappearing genre. OLTL & AMC, we'll miss your hard work and talent.

Mark Lawson (Brody, OLTL) - Thank you all for the kind words and well wishes. I'm not worried about anyone from the One Life family. We're all going to be just fine! Keep watching and enjoy the rest of the ride!

Now the big question...what can we do? The answer is...write to Oprah and OWN, write to any network you think could see potential in our daytime soaps. How many of you know that AMC's "Hit Show" Mad Men reportedly gets less viewers than the lowest rated soap? If a show with that viewership can be considered a hit, what could a soap be considered for another network? We won't know until we try. As it was said on Facebook by an AMC fan today...we may have lost this battle...but the war is far from over.
